Lights
If the vehicle is left parked without being
sufficiently marked with the appropriate lights and
is therefore not or only dimly visible to other road
users, accidents and serious injuries can occur.
Always park the vehicle safely and with the
appropriate lights on. Observe the relevant
legal regulations.
If the vehicle lighting is required for several
hours, switch on the right or left parking light
if possible. The

the vehicle can remain switched on is
generally twice as long as the parking lamp
can remain switched on.

WARNING
The right-hand parking lamp is switched on.
The left-hand parking lamp is switched on.
Switch on the parking light on both sides
of the
vehicle.
When the parking lamp is switched on on both
sides of the vehicle, the parking lamps in both
headlamps and certain areas of the rear lamp
clusters illuminate:
Switch on the position light .
Switch off the ignition.
Lock the vehicle from the outside.
Automatic switch-off of position light or
parking
lamp
If the vehicle detects that the 12-volt battery is
low on charge, it switches off the position or
parking light, but at the earliest after 2 hours of
operation, so that the engine can still be started.
If the battery capacity is not sufficient for the
position light or parking light to remain on for 2
hours, the 12-volt battery may be discharged to
such an extent that the engine cannot be started
→ page 94.
The "Coming Home" and "Leaving Home"
functions illuminate the immediate surroundings of
the vehicle when getting in and out of the vehicle
in case of darkness.
The "Coming Home" function is activated
manually. The "Leaving Home" function, on the
other hand, is automatically controlled by a rain and
light sensor.
In the infotainment system's vehicle settings menu,
you can set the duration of the light off delay and
activate and deactivate the function → p. 29.
Activate the "Coming Home" function
Switch off the ignition.
Operate the light flashes for approx. 1 second.
The "Coming Home" lighting is switched on when
the driver's door is opened. The light switch-off
delay starts when the last door of the vehicle,
including the tailgate, is closed.
Deactivate the "Coming Home" function
It is automatically deactivated after the set light-
off delay time has elapsed.
OR: it is automatically deactivated if a vehicle
door or the tailgate is still open approx. 30
seconds after the function has been activated.
OR:
turn off the lights.
OR:
switch on the ignition.
Activate the "Leaving Home" function
Unlock the vehicle (if the automatic dipped
beam function isactivated and the rain
and light sensor detects darkness).
Deactivate the "Leaving Home" function.
It is automatically deactivated after the light-off
delay time has elapsed.
OR:
Lock the vehicle.
OR:
turn off the lights.
OR:
switch on the ignition.
Some settings can be saved in the user
accounts of the personalisation function.
The user account can be changed when the user
account is changed → p. 32.
