If the windows are dirty, fogged or icy, visibility
is reduced and the risk of an accident and
serious injury is increased. The function of the
vehicle's safety equipment may be impaired.
•
Only drive if you have good visibility through all
windows.
•
Do not coat the windscreen with water-
repellent products available for windows. If
visibility conditions are unfavourable,
more intense glare may occur.

Notes on vehicle preservation
Improper maintenance and cleaning of vehicle
components can impair the function of the
vehicle's safety equipment and cause serious
injury.
•
Clean and store vehicle parts only in
accordance with the manufacturer's
instructions.
•
Always use approved or recommended
cleaning agents.
•
Do not use cleaning agents containing
solvents. Solvents can damage the airbag
modules irreparably.
•
Protect your hands and arms from sharp
parts, e.g. when cleaning the inside of wheel
arches.

— Check shock absorbers and coil springs.
Bodywork
— Check roof systems.
— Check the windscreen.
— Check bodywork for corrosion.
— Check the wiper blades.
— Check the window washer.
— Check door retainers.
— Check the underbody of the vehicle.
— Check drains.
— Carry out a test run.
Revision work
In addition to the inspection work, your vehicle
must also be serviced depending on the
conditions of use and the vehicle' s equipment , e.g.
engine, gearbox, fluids and operating equipment.
This work is carried out according to the time
elapsed and the distance travelled since the last
service, or only according to the time elapsed or the
distance travelled.
— Change or add additives.
— Change brake fluid.
— Check particulate filter.
— Change the oil and, if necessary, the gearbox
filter.
— Change the oil in the final drive and differential.
— Change the air filter.
— Change the oil and, if necessary, the engine
filter.
— Change the dust and pollen filter.
— Change the spark plugs.
— Check or replace the timing belt and the belt
tensioning pulley.
It is also possible to carry out the revision work
independently of the services shown.
For technical reasons, e.g. the ongoing development
of components, the service packages may vary.
Your Volkswagen dealer or specialist workshop will
always be informed of any changes in good time.
Vehicle preservation
Regular and competent care of the vehicle contributes
to its preservation.
The longer dirt remains on the surfaces of vehicle
parts, the more difficult it is to clean and maintain
them. If the dirt is left uncleaned for a long time,
it may no longer be removed.
Volkswagen recommends the use of original spare
parts that are specially adapted to your vehicle.
