If you wish to use a child seat with universal
approval (u) in the vehicle, make sure that it is
approved for the seats in question. You will find the
necessary information on the label.
The child seat carries the orange ECE type
approval mark. The following table shows the
mounting options for the seat.

Securing a child seat with a safety belt
—
Please note and follow the instructions
→ p. 54.
—
Adjust the height of the seat belt so that the
seat belt webbing fits the child seat naturally,
without being too wide. If a rearward-facing child
seat is fitted, set the belt height adjuster to the
lowest position.
—
Position the seat belt and guide it through the
child seat according to the seat manufacturer's
instructions.
—
Make sure that the seat belt is not twisted.
—
Insert the belt tongue into the belt buckle of the
corresponding seat until it audibly clicks into
place.
Installation in the central seat position
When fitting a child seat in the centre seat, it is
particularly important to ensure that it is fitted
correctly, as this seat is narrower than the two side
seats. If the child seat is earlier than the two side
seats, the child seat must be installed correctly.
If the child seat is not as wide as the vehicle's
bench seat, the belt locks of the adjacent seats
may be covered and damaged. When fitting child
seats, always make sure that the belt locks on all
the belts are accessible.
—
Unless otherwise specified by the child seat
manufacturer, the child seat shall be attached
to the vehicle seat back and bench and shall not
overlap the vehicle seat bench.
—
The child seat must be straight and centred on
the vehicle seat and must not be able to move
more than 2.5 cm (approx. 1 inch).
—
The child seat must never rest on the belt
locks.
—
If several child seats are fitted, they must not
in any case be interlocked.
In some cases, even if the child seat is mounted
correctly in the centre seat, the child seat may cover
or even damage and render the belt locks
inoperable. This can occur if the child seat slides on
the bench seat during driving. Therefore, check the
position of the child seat regularly to ensure that
the belt locks are not covered or damaged.
