If the key bit is not inserted far enough into the
switch, the switch could be damaged when the key
is turned.
Do not leave the vehicle key in the key switch, as
locking the passenger door could damage the door
trim, instrument panel, switch and key.

airbags

Depending on the equipment, side airbags are fitted
in the front seats → Fig. 39.
The side airbags for the front seats are mounted in
the outer side cushioning of the driver and front
passenger seat backrests → fig. 40.
The location of the side airbags is indicated by the
marking "AIRBAG".
When triggered, the side airbags occupy the areas
framed in red (deployment zones) → Fig. 39 and →
Fig. 40. For this reason, never place or attach
objects in these areas → .
In the event of a side impact, the side air bags on
the side of the vehicle on which the impact occurs
are triggered, thereby reducing the risk of injury to
the occupants of the vehicle on the part of the
body most directly affected by the impact.
Do not leave the vehicle key in the key switch
while driving.

In the event of jolts, the key could be
accidentally turned in the switch and, if
necessary, trigger the front passenger airbag.
•
The front passenger frontal airbag could
deploy unexpectedly, which could result in
serious or fatal injury.
When triggered, the airbag inflates in milliseconds
at high speed.
•
Always leave the side airbag deployment
zones clear.
•
Do not allow other persons, animals or objects
to come between the front seat occupants and
the deployment areas.
