Performing an emergency release of the tailgate
— To unlock the rear seat backrest, insert the
vehicle key into the key slot on the rear seat
backrest.
→ fig. 67 and press in the direction of the arrow.
— Fold the rear seat backrest forward.
— Press the lever → fig. 68 in the direction of the
arrow and open the gate.

on page 75.
The tailgate cannot be opened or closed.
— Check if there are any obstacles blocking the
gate. The gate can be moved by hand. You will
have to use considerable force to do this.
All indicators flash four times
The last key used is still inside the vehicle.
— Remove the key and lock the vehicle.
The tailgate opening mechanism does not work
properly.
When the outside temperature is below freezing,
the opening mechanism cannot always
automatically raise the partially opened tailgate.
— Lift the gate by hand.
Easy Open sensor-controlled tailgate opening does
not work.
— The Easy Open function only works when the
ignition is switched off.
— Clean the rear bumper sensors.
— In the event of heavy rainfall, the Easy Open
function may be deactivated to prevent the gate
from opening accidentally.
Windows
The anti-pinch function of the power windows can
reduce the risk of bruising when closing the
windows.
If a window encounters resistance or an
obstruction when closing, it will open again
immediately → .
— Check why the window has not been closed.
— Try closing the window again.
— If the closing process is interrupted again, the
anti-trapping function stops working for a few
seconds.
— If the window still cannot be closed, it shall be
moved to the corresponding position. Pull the
button again before the window closes.
