The anti-theft alarm monitors the doors, the front
bonnet and the tailgate.
The anti-theft alarm is automatically activated when
locks the vehicle.
If the vehicle is not unlocked with a valid key, the
alarm is triggered and emits acoustic and light
signals for a maximum of approx. 5 minutes.
In which cases is the burglar alarm triggered?
—
If a mechanically unlocked door is opened
with the vehicle key.
—
If the front bonnet is opened.
—
If the tailgate is opened.
—
If the ignition is switched on with an invalid
vehicle key.
—
If the 12-volt battery is disengaged.
—
If there are movements inside the vehicle (for
vehicles with occupant monitoring → p. 74).
—
If the vehicle is lifted or towed (for vehicles with
an anti-trailing system → page 74).
—
If the vehicle is transported on a ferry or by rail
(in the case of vehicles with an anti-trailer
system or passenger compartment
surveillance), the vehicle shall be transported
in the following way
→ p. 74).
Switching off the alarm

Unlock the vehicle using the unlock button
on the vehicle key.

OR: switch on the ignition with a valid vehicle
key. The alarm may be triggered briefly, for
approx. 1 second.

If the vehicle is equipped with the "Key- less
Access" system, grasp the door handle.

If the 12-volt battery is low on charge
If the alarm is not activated or is discharged,
the burglar alarm will not function properly.
If the 12-volt battery is disconnected, the
alarm may be triggered.
Cabin surveillance and
anti-
trawling
system

In some markets and depending on the equipment,
the vehicle may be fitted with a habitation
monitoring and anti-knock system.
If movement is detected in the passenger
compartment when the vehicle is locked, the
passenger compartment monitoring triggers the
alarm → fig. 64.
If it is detected that the vehicle is being lifted, the
anti-ramming system triggers the alarm.
Connecting the passenger compartment monitoring and the
anti-trailing
system
Close the slides in the roof console to allow the
sensors to operate.

Close the windows, glass roof, doors and
tailgate.
—
Press the lock key once.
—
The passenger compartment monitoring and
the anti-disturbance system are switched on.
Temporarily switch off the habitat monitoring
and
the anti-trailing system.
Depending on the equipment, the vehicle
monitoring and the anti-idling system can be
temporarily switched
off
in the
infotainment system
's
vehicle settings
menu:

Switch on the ignition.
—
Deactivate the passenger compartment
monitoring and the
anti-trailing
system
in the
infotainment
system's
Vehicle settings
menu.
—
Close all doors and the tailgate.
—
Lock the vehicle with the key.
The passenger compartment surveillance and the
anti-trailer system remain deactivated until the next
time the vehicle is locked.
