Security
Damaged seat belts are a major hazard and can
cause serious or fatal injuries.
Never press the seat belt against the door or
seat mechanism as this may damage the seat
belt.
If the belt webbing or other parts of the
belt are damaged, the belt may break in the
event of an accident or braking.
Have damaged seat belts replaced
immediately with new Volks-approved seat
belts.
wagen for this vehicle. After an accident, have
a specialist workshop replace any seat belts
that have been stretched excessively as a result
of the strain they have been subjected to. They
may need to be replaced even if there is no
noticeable damage. The belt anchorages
should also be checked.
Never attempt to repair, modify or remove
the seat belts yourself. Always have seat belt
repairs carried out by a qualified electrician.
The safety catches, automatic reels and
fasteners should be sent to a specialist
workshop.
WARNING
Not wearing a seat-belt or wearing it incorrectly
