Intelligent parking system technology cannot
overcome the limits imposed by physical laws
and only works within the limits of the systems.
Failure to take this into account can lead to
accidents, serious injuries and damage to the
vehicle.
•
The parking system cannot replace the driver's
attention.

Operation
The parking aid detects the distance to potential
obstacles by means of sensors at the front and rear
of the vehicle → p. 6,
→ The parking aid warns of obstacles by means of
colour segments in the display and acoustic signals.
→ fig. 129 , → .
Please also note the information on the display
indications of the parking systems → p. 157.
Personalisation
You can save certain settings of the parking aid, such
as the volume of the acoustic signals, in the user
accounts of the personalisation function. The settings
change automatically when the user account is
changed → p. 32.
Parking aid settings
Depending on the equipment, settings for the
parking aid can be made in the infotainment
system's vehicle settings menu.
→ p. 29.
The collision zone is reached at the latest when the
penultimate segment is shown on the infotainment
system display. Do not continue driving!
Depending on the equipment, the distance to
obstacles in the side areas is also displayed. In
order to be able to fully explore the side areas, the
vehicle must be moved forwards or backwards by a
few metres. If an obstacle enters these areas from
the outside, this is not indicated.
