Driver assistance systems
If it is not possible to drive at a sufficient safe
distance and at a constant speed, the use of the
GRA may lead to an accident and serious injury
may result.
•
Never use the GRA in heavy traffic, if there is
insufficient clearance, on steep, winding or
slippery roads.
The vehicle must not be driven on hard
surfaces (e.g. in case of snow, ice, rain or loose
snow) or on flooded roads.
•
Never use the GRA off-road or on roads
that are not solidly paved.
•
Always adapt the speed and the safety distance
to the vehicle in front according to visibility,
weather and climate conditions.
The following are the main reasons for this.
•
After use, always switch off the GRA to
prevent unwanted speed regulation.
•
It is dangerous to use a previously saved speed
when it is excessive for the current road, traffic
or customer conditions.
matological.
Introduction to the topic
The speed regulator (GRA) helps to maintain a
constant speed set by you.
Operate the cruise control
(GRA)
with the lever of the intermi-
tents.
Driver
assistance systems
Speed governor (GRA)
Speed range
The GRA is available when driving in forward
gear at speeds above approx. 20 km/h (15
mph).
Driving with cruise control
The stored speed can be exceeded at any time, e.g.
for overtaking. Regulation is interrupted during
acceleration and then resumes at the saved speed.
Indications on the display
When the GRA is switched on, the instrument
cluster display shows the saved speed and the
status of the controller.
Depending on the driving situation in question
and the version of the instrument cluster, the
following indicator lights are displayed:

is active.
When the GRA is not regulating, the control
lamps are shown in small or grey.
If no speed is stored, the instrument cluster display
appears instead of the speed.
Shifting gears
As soon as the clutch pedal is depressed, control
is interrupted and is resumed when the gear is
changed.
Lowering
slopes
When driving downhill, the saved speed may be
exceeded due to the gradient.
Brake the vehicle with the brake pedal and, if
necessary, downshift.
