In the event of braking or an accident, properly fitted
seat belts keep the vehicle occupants in the correct
position and offer them the best possible protection

Wearing seat belts
Always wear your seat belt before driving.

Correctly adjust the front seat and head
restraint → page 35.

Position the backrest of the rear seat in the
upright position → .

Grasp the belt strap and place it centrally on
your chest and pelvis. Do not twist the belt →

Insert the belt tongue securely into the belt
buckle corresponding to the seat → fig. 29.

Pull on the belt to check that the tongue is
properly engaged in the fastener.
Removing seat belts
Only remove the seat belt when the vehicle is
stationary → .

Press the red belt lock button → fig. 30. The belt
tongue is ejected.

Pull the belt backwards with your hand so that
the belt winds up more easily, the belt does not
twist and the trim is not damaged.

Seat belts only ensure optimum protection and
reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury in the
event of an accident if the belt webbing is correctly
positioned. A correctly positioned seat-belt
webbing also retains
The air bag must be secured to the occupants in
their seat so that, if the air bag is triggered, it can
provide maximum protection for them. For this
reason, always wear the seat belt and make sure
that the seat belt webbing is correctly positioned
→ Fig. 31.
Sitting in the wrong position can cause serious or
fatal injuries → p. 35.

If you remove your seat belt while driving,
you can be seriously or fatally injured in the
event of an accident or braking!
Incorrectly worn belt webbing can cause serious
or fatal injuries in the event of an accident.

The safety belt shall ensure optimum
protection only if it is worn correctly in
accordance with the height of the occupant.
The seat shall be in an upright position and the
seat back shall be in a vertical position.
