The recommended tyre pressure for the factory-
fitted tyres can be found on the tyre pressure
sticker on the driver's door pillar → page 263.
All tyre pressures must be checked monthly when
the tyres are cold. The pressure must correspond to
the pressure prescribed by the vehicle
manufacturer, which is shown on the tyre pressure
sticker.
This also applies to the tyre pressure of spare or
emergency tyres.
If the size of the tyres fitted differs from those
shown on the model plate or on the tyre pressure
sticker, the correct tyre pressure must be checked.
The tyre monitoring system is not a substitute for
regular tyre maintenance and checks. The driver is
responsible for maintaining the correct tyre
pressure at all times, even if the system has not
yet warned of tyre pressure that is too low.
The tyre monitoring system also has a fault
indicator which is linked to the warning lamp. If
there is a fault in the system, the warning lamp
flashes for approx. 1 minute after the ignition is
switched on,
then stays on.
If the tyre monitoring system indicates a
malfunction, you will not be able to monitor the tyre
pressure correctly . The system malfunction can
have several causes, e.g. a wheel or tyre
replacement. After replacing a wheel or tyre, check
whether the warning lamp indicates a system
malfunction to ensure that the system is working
properly → p. 258.

cancel the process. The current pressure of the
neu- matics will not be saved and the system will
not adapt.
After a long journey (at least 20 minutes) at
different speeds, the system automatically adapts
the new values and monitors them.
The system has to be adapted again in the
following cases:
If tyre pressures have been changed.
If any wheels have been changed.
If the wheels have been exchanged, e.g. from
the front axle to the rear axle.
Only adjust the system when all tyres have the
correct tyre pressure, measured when they are
cold. In order to measure the tyre pressure, the
vehicle must have been stationary for
3 hours or not having travelled more than a few
kilometres at low speed during this time.
The tyre control system does not function
